What was special about this:
Completed at the beginning of the Pandemic, this project created a unique challenge of encouraging vacation exploration while the world was slowly shutting down.

01

What was it?
A content rich website with a killer app, the Vacavatar generator encouraged family members to create their own unique vacation avatar. Once the Vacavatars were complete, the system created a custom family vacation pic that could be shared online.

02

Then what?
A curated list of Marriot Bonvoy destination recommendations to suit the entire family were automatically generated based on the choices made in creating each Vacavatar.

The experience also protected privacy by not sharing any data with Chase’s servers and was built accessible allowing for keyboard and screen reader access.

03

The Vacavatar Experience

Ideating the portmanteau “Vacavatar” (by combining the words “vacation” and “avatar”) I worked with my team to develop: custom illustrations that married the Bonvoy and Chase illustrative guidelines; the gameplay; and conditional logic to generate the property list via an API feed from Marriot.
